We have an exciting role with a leading Insurance team in Leeds. This is hybrid working.

The company has 60 offices in 20+ countries and is a holding company for insurance, reinsurance, specialist advisory and investment operations around the world.

About the team:

We are looking for a casualty solicitor (5-10 PQE) to join our Casualty team in Leeds. At present the dedicated team comprises of 6 fee earners, a Partner, Senior Associate, Associate, Solicitor, Trainee and Paralegal.
The work is fast-moving, varied and challenging. The successful candidate will receive full training in our internal practices and procedures.

What we ask of you:

* Provide initial prospects/opinions to insurers on a wide variety of disputes, including those relating to employers liability and public liability within the social welfare, equine and construction sectors.

* Be expected to manage a case load of their own, including recommending reserves and setting strategies under the supervision of a Partner.

* Support the Head of Department with the supervision of solicitors and paralegals, and in achieving the strategic aims of the department. Achieving the department's fee targets and assisting and enabling others to do so by assisting in the development of junior members of the team.

* Set and deliver objectives personally and through the team. Set team objectives in conjunction with Head of Department, monitor performance and progress and provide professional guidance to team members as appropriate.

* Have a mixed case load of fast track, intermediate and multi-track work.

What you will bring to the role:

*Have existing defendant personal injury litigation experience in both EL/PL and professional liability claims involving personal injury.
*Have a thorough understanding of the Civil Procedure Rules.
*Be accustomed to running their own caseload under appropriate supervision.
*Demonstrate strong communication and organisational skills with an ability to prioritise workload.
