An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled and experienced Construction Lawyer to join a highly regarded boutique law firm in the heart of the City of London. Specialising in non-contentious construction matters, this role offers the chance to work on a diverse range of high-profile projects across the commercial and residential real estate sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

- Take ownership of drafting, negotiating, and finalizing building contracts, professional appointments, collateral warranties, and related documentation for major development projects.
- Conduct detailed audits of construction documentation to ensure compliance and mitigate risks for funders of significant developments.
- Advise on legal and commercial aspects of construction and engineering projects, ensuring a pragmatic and client-focused approach.
- Collaborate closely with the firm's commercial real estate department, leveraging mutual expertise to deliver comprehensive legal solutions.
- Provide strategic legal advice on a wide variety of projects, including urban redevelopments, refurbishments, and engineering ventures.

The construction and engineering team is engaged in some of the most dynamic and challenging projects in the real estate sector, including:

- Redevelopments of large-scale shopping centres, industrial estates, retail parks, and mixed-use urban sites.
- Refurbishment and redevelopment of multi-let office buildings and commercial retail spaces.
- Construction funding for office developments, retail parks, and other key projects.
- Complex engineering projects, often requiring innovative and bespoke solutions.

The construction and engineering team is led by a partner recognized as a leading expert in the field by Chambers UK. The department works seamlessly with the commercial real estate team, combining their collective knowledge to ensure the legal aspects of construction and development projects are managed effectively and efficiently.

About You:

- A qualified solicitor with at least 6 years of post-qualification experience in non-contentious construction law.
- Demonstrable experience in drafting and negotiating JCT and NEC contracts, as well as professional appointments and collateral warranties.
- Strong understanding of construction audits and risk management for development funders.
- Excellent commercial awareness and the ability to provide practical, solutions-focused advice.
- A collaborative approach and the ability to build strong relationships with clients and colleagues alike.
